Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files placed on your device to enable SOSRendezVous.ca to function. This page describes the ones we use.

1. Essential cookies (always active)

• next-auth.session-token — Authenticates your session. Duration: 7 days.
• next-auth.csrf-token — Protects against CSRF attacks. Duration: session.
• NEXT_LOCALE — Remembers your preferred language (FR/EN). Duration: 1 year.
• theme — Remembers your light/dark preference. Duration: 1 year.

Without these cookies you could not log in or use the platform. They do not require prior consent.

2. Analytics and advertising cookies (optional)

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analyticsto measure site traffic and the effectiveness of our advertising. They run in consent mode: until you click "Accept all" in the banner, no measurement or advertising cookie is set. Google may still receive cookie-less technical signals (IP address, browser, referring page). Your choice is stored in your browser (key sosrdv-cookie-consent); clear the site data to change it. We do not use a Facebook Pixel.

Where your visit came from

The sos_attr cookie (first-party, not readable by JavaScript, deleted when you close your browser) remembers how you arrived (for example Google or a campaign) and the pages you viewed. It is only used to know, if you create an account, which path brought you here; nothing is recorded about you if you do not sign up.

3. Third-party cookies

• Stripe sets its own cookies during payment, for fraud prevention. See their cookie policy.
• Google sets cookies only if you use Google sign-in.

4. Managing your cookies

You can delete or block cookies via your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will make SOSRendezVous non-functional.
