Terms of Service

Welcome to SOSRendezVous.ca. By using our platform (website and mobile app), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. They apply to patients (parts 1 to 9) and to professionals and clinics (part 10, in addition to the earlier parts).

1. Service provided

SOSRendezVous is a platform connecting patients with professionals (health, allied health, wellness, pet care, etc.) for appointments. We do not provide medical services or professional advice, and we are not a party to the care contract between you and the professional.

2. Emergency disclaimer

SOSRendezVous is not an emergency service. For life-threatening emergencies, dial 911 immediately or go to the nearest ER.

3. User account

  • You must be at least 14 years old (or have a parent/guardian).
  • Information provided must be accurate and up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity from your account.
  • One account per person. Account resale is prohibited.

4. Booking, cancellation and deposit

  • Appointments are confirmed subject to actual clinic availability. A clinic may need to confirm your request itself.
  • The cancellation policy is set by each clinic (24 hours by default). Cancel or modify before that deadline to avoid fees.
  • Some clinics require a no-show deposit: an amount is then authorized or charged on your card when you book, and may be kept in case of a late cancellation or no-show, according to the clinic's policy.
  • SOSRendezVous charges no cancellation fees, but clinic policies apply.
  • Listings marked "directory listing" come from public sources: online booking is not available on them.

5. Paid subscriptions for patients

  • Searching and booking are free. Optional plans (Single-service, Family) unlock benefits described on the Pricing page, such as the next 48 hours of time slots, cancellation alerts and text reminders. The prices in force are those shown on that page at the time of purchase.
  • Plans are billed monthly by Stripe or PayPal. You may cancel any time from your dashboard.
  • No prorated refunds for the current period.
  • We may change prices for future periods; current subscribers keep their rate until their next plan change.

6. Artificial intelligence tools

Assisted search, triage and the booking assistant are guidance tools. They give no diagnosis, no medical advice and can be wrong. If you have doubts about your health, consult a professional.

7. Limitation of liability

SOSRendezVous acts as a technology intermediary. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • The quality, accuracy or outcome of services provided by professionals and clinics.
  • Cancellations, delays, or schedule changes by clinics.
  • Public information (contact details, hours, reviews) shown on listings, which may be incomplete or out of date.
  • Service interruptions or indirect damages related to use of the service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to SOSRendezVous over the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, notably for intentional or gross fault, nor your consumer rights.

8. User obligations

  • No fake or abusive bookings.
  • Respect clinic policies.
  • No illegal use of the platform, and no mass extraction of its data ("scraping").
  • No attempt to bypass our security systems.
  • Reviews you post must reflect a real experience, without defamatory statements or third parties' personal information. Reviews are moderated before publication.

9. Intellectual property, suspension and governing law

The SOSRendezVous name, logo, source code, and all content are protected. Reproduction without written authorization is prohibited. We may suspend or terminate an account for violations of these terms, after reasonable notice when possible. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email before taking effect, and continued use after that date means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute shall be brought before the courts of the district of Montreal, subject to your consumer rights.

10. Terms for professionals and clinics

  • Eligibility. You declare that you are entitled to practise your profession and offer your services in Quebec, and hold the permits and insurance this requires. Your listing details (name, address, specialty, credentials, fees) must be accurate. A false statement may lead to removal of the listing.
  • Claiming a listing.You may claim only your own business. The listing stays a "directory" listing and its public details are locked until we verify your request. We may refuse, remove or correct a listing.
  • Plans and fees. SOSRendezVous takes no commission on your appointments. You pay a fixed plan (Essential, Professional or Premium), for the term you choose, at the price shown on the Pricingpage at the time of purchase, through Stripe. Each plan's features are those described on that page; a feature reserved for a plan is not provided below it.
  • Your patients and their data. You are responsible for the information you receive from your patients (including intake form answers) and for using it lawfully. The platform is not a clinical record and does not replace your record-keeping obligations. Ask only for the information you need.
  • Messages to patients. You are responsible for the content of, and the consent required for, messages you send to your patients through the platform (email, text), and for honouring any unsubscribe request.
  • Appointments and policies.You set your availability, your cancellation policy and, if applicable, your deposit, and you honour them. A patient's fees are settled between them and you.
  • Waitlist.When a slot opens up, we may offer it by text message to patients on the waitlist. A patient accepts the offer by answering "YES".
  • Termination. You may ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend a listing that breaches these terms or the law.
  • Outreach.We may email a business's public professional address to introduce our services, with an unsubscribe link in every message.
